Football second division Karlsruher SC has hired central defender Marcel Franke from league competitor Hannover 96.
The 29 -year -old captain of Lower Saxony will receive a contract for three years at the KSC from the coming season.
His current contract in Hanover expires in summer.
Franke is “exactly the type of central defender, who can fill the gap created on our defensive with a lot of physicality and experience,” said KSC Managing Director Oliver Kreuzer.
Franke emphasized that he had “great desire for the task at the KSC”.
Franke has played 81 games for Hanover so far.
Previously, he had already been active at Darmstadt 98, Dynamo Dresden, Norwich City, Greuther Fürth and Halleschen FC.
