The Toronto Raptors still live! Through the 110: 102 victory against the Philadelphia 76ers in game 4 of the first round series, the Canadians avoid the sweep and send the series back to Philly. While on the side of the Sixers neither Joel Embbiid nor James Harden was completely convincing, the Raptors Pascal Siakam got a cream day.

Siakam came to a playoff career high of 34 points, 10 of them in the first and 15 in the fourth quarter (10/19 FG, 8 rebounds). In the final section, he kept fighting to the line and sank 9 of his 11 free throws (13/15 in total) during this period – much to the annoyance of Embiid, who disagreed with some of the referee decisions and the team with the words “Good Job” as well as said goodbye to sarcastic applause.
In addition to Siakam, only Gary Trent Jr. (24, 8/20 FG), above Anunoby (11, 3/13 FG) and Thaddeus Young von der Bank (13, 6/9 FG) on a double -digit points of points. The raptors met just 23.5 percent from a distance (8/34, Phi: 41.9 percent, 13/31), but were able to use 35 trips to the line (28/35) and 22 points after 16 Sixers Gymnastics (Philly only 3 points after 11 raptors ball loss) more than compensate for.
However, the violation of Fred Vanvleet caused disillusionment, who had to leave the encounter late in the second quarter due to hip problems. The Guard tore his jersey out of anger, later the raptors confirmed that Vanvleet would not return and undergo further investigations. Up to this point, the first all star had contributed 5 points in 15 minutes.
Embbiid (21, 7/16 FG, 8 rebounds) and Harden (22, 5/17 FG, 9 Assists) led the guests in the scoring, the annoyed Embiid also picked up a technical. Tobias Harris acted somewhat more efficiently with a double double (15, 7/12 FG, 11 rebounds), in addition to the numerous ball losses, the Sixers also broke the neck of the Sixers. Toronto was able to throw the opposing basket eight times more often.
Siakam towered over: Raptors secure fifth game against Philly
The thumb injury did not stop Embiid from participating in Canada. Head Coach Doc Rivers described the injury as “not bad” that it could “not worsen”. Accordingly, despite pain, there was no debate. Thus, only Matisse Thybulle (not vaccinated) was missing from the Sixers, while the Raptors Scottie Barnes, freshly chosen Rookie of the Year, came from the bank after his ankle injury.
No team was able to earn an advantage by the end of the first quarter (24:24), Embiid had not housed a litter in the basket (0/5 FG). Siakam was the only player to be on 10 points. A hot hand from a distance kept the Sixers in the game (5/10 3FG). As a result, 6 points in a row (4 of them from Siakam) gave the Raptors a small cushion, two three of Trent Jr. for the first time extended the lead to a double -digit number of points (50:40).
It should remain tight until the beginning of the final section before a 7-2 run, in which Siakam always had its hands in the game, caused a small gap (90:83). The Canadians were able to settle up to 14 points, in addition to free throws, this also enabled a threesome from Anunoby. Two minutes before the end, Maxey left a technical free throw and Embiid another freebie. On the other hand, Achiuwa provided a strong layup at the 106: 94 final doubt that the series will have a fifth game.
